NBN wholesale prices rise from 1 July: what changed by speed tier
Increases range up to $2.34 a month on popular fixed-line tiers. What you pay depends on your provider.
NBN Co’s annual price change took effect on 1 July 2026. It says wholesale prices were adjusted, on average, by just under the 3.63 per cent rise in the Consumer Price Index.
| Wholesale plan | FY26 average | FY27 average | Change a month |

| 12/1 Mbps | $12.01 | $12.00 | -$0.01 |

What it means
These are wholesale figures, and retailers set their own prices. Canstar’s tracker shows providers have not passed changes on evenly, so compare your bill rather than assuming the table applies to you.
The small gap between 50/20 and 500/50 on FTTP and HFC is the striking part. At wholesale, ten times the download speed costs $3.25 more a month.
